ISO 26000 GAP ANALYSIS
Social Responsibility
Want to understand and implement socially responsible practices for your organisation and contribute to sustainable development? Our ISO 26000 Consultants can help.
Your first step to compliance
Teamwork’s ISO 26000 Gap Analysis service utilises pragmatic, business-focused methods. Our consultants help clients, partners and stakeholders benchmark their systems against best practices, a vital step towards aligning with the requirements of ISO 26000. Our approach involves interviews with key personnel to assess your current compliance with the required Standards.

Why is Gap Analysis important?
A gap analysis is a key stepping stone in aligning to the requirements of ISO 26000. Following the gap analysis, we generate a detailed and comprehensive report for review by your key stakeholders. This report succinctly highlights your areas of compliance with ISO 26000 requirements and more importantly, identifies the gaps. We accompany this with actionable recommendations and a realistic timeline for aligning to ISO 26000.

How we work
Interview
Teamwork conducts a high-level comparison of your organisation’s core processes, practices and documentation against the requirements of ISO 26000 and recognised industry best practice. The analysis highlights areas of compliance as well as gaps, providing clear insights into where improvements are needed to meet the Standard effectively.
Documentation
A high-level assessment of your current documentation and processes is conducted to determine their alignment with ISO 26000 requirements. Any gaps or areas for improvement are identified, with recommendations provided to help enhance practices in line with the Standard and recognised best practice.
Analysis
Following completion of the ISO 26000 gap analysis, Teamwork prepares a comprehensive report outlining the findings. This report is presented to your key stakeholders and clearly identifies areas where your organisation already meets the Standard, as well as any gaps. For each gap, we provide actionable recommendations and a realistic timeline to help you achieve full alignment with ISO 26000.
Implementation
Teamwork will develop a Continual Improvement Plan (CIP) outlining key implementation actions, assigned owners and realistic timescales. The plan is designed to be a living document that can be regularly updated and expanded as progress is made and priorities evolve.

According to the Bruntland report (1987) “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.
ISO 26000 defines social responsibility as the responsibility of an organisation for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, through transparent and ethical behaviour that:
- contributes to sustainable development, including health and the welfare of society;
- takes into account the expectations of stakeholders;
- is in compliance with applicable law and consistent with international norms of behaviour ; and
- is integrated throughout the organisation and practised in its relationships.
The ultimate aim is to contribute to sustainable development.
There are seven principles of social responsibility at the core of ISO 26000 guidance, these are:
- Accountability: for impacts on society, the economy and the environment
- Transparency: in decisions and activities that impact society and the environment
- Ethical Behaviour: behave ethically and based on the values of honesty, equity and integrity
- Respect for Stakeholder Interests: respect, consider and respond to the interests of stakeholders
- Respect for the Rule of Law: accept that respect for the rule of law is mandatory
- Respect for International Norms of Behaviour: respect international norms of behaviour, while adhering to the principle of respect for the rule of law
- Respect for Human Rights: respect human rights and recognise both their importance and their universality
Teamwork can help you review your current practices to see how these align with the principles of ISO 26000 and advise you how to fill any gaps.
