Already UKAS certified to ISO 27001 (information security) with NQA, for its operations in Finland, Diktamen aimed to reinforce its commitment to both quality and sustainability by developing and implementing an integrated Quality and Environmental Management System (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) across its Headquarters in Finland and its UK operations. This initiative also supported the company’s efforts to align with a key client framework.

Additionally, Diktamen sought to establish a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment and develop a carbon reduction plan for its UK operations, in compliance with PPN 006 (formerly PPN 06/21).

How did we support them?

Diktamen required a partner with a deep understanding of both their business operations and the ISO framework, capable of delivering the project within a tight timeframe. Having previously supported Diktamen in achieving UKAS-accredited ISO 27001 (Information Security) certification and continuing to assist with its ongoing maintenance, Teamwork IMS had already proven itself as a trusted, long-term compliance partner. With extensive experience in ISO Certification and Sustainability initiatives, Teamwork IMS offered a pragmatic, results-driven approach to both certification and carbon footprint reduction planning.

Diktamen engaged Teamwork IMS to implement:

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for its Helsinki HQ and UK operations
Carbon Footprinting and a PPN 006 (formerly PPN 06/21) -compliant Carbon Reduction Plan for its UK operations

Teamwork IMS led the delivery, commencing with an integrated ISO 9001 and 14001 gap analysis and then supporting with the development and implementation of an integrated management system before finally providing support for Diktamen in preparing and attending the external ISO assessment with NQA.

Teamwork provided expert guidance and maintained clear, consistent communication throughout. The project was structured to integrate seamlessly with Diktamen’s existing ISO 27001 (information security) management system, ensuring a cohesive and efficient approach.

For their carbon footprint assessment and carbon reduction planning, Teamwork worked with Diktamen to develop their baseline carbon footprint and develop a carbon reduction plan, ensuring this aligned to the UK Government’s Public Procurement Notice (PPN 006, formerly PPN 06/21) requirements, whilst also supporting Diktamen’s sustainability goals.

This plan reflected the company’s proactive commitment to reducing environmental impact and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

How have they benefitted?

There were advantages for Diktamen implementing the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards simultaneously as part of an integrated certification programme. In particular, the internal and external incremental costs can be significantly reduced. Resource economies were achieved with the project addressing multiple standards e.g. an integrated gap analysis and implementation programme, resulting in less potential for duplication and more effective integration of Diktamen management systems from the outset. There were also benefits of an integrated approach in terms of the ongoing costs of certification.

Teamwork’s ability to quickly mobilise resources, ensured the project could be delivered efficiently and effectively and the project was delivered on schedule, within a short timescale. Key stakeholders from both the UK and Finnish teams were involved, ensuring alignment across both locations and stakeholder engagement, which was instrumental in the success of the programme.

Our collaboration with Diktamen played a pivotal role in their successful selection for a UK NHS framework. By supporting the implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and developing a robust Carbon Reduction Plan, Teamwork IMS helped strengthen Ditkamen’s compliance and sustainability credentials. This strategic alignment not only enhanced Ditktamen’s competitive positioning but also demonstrated the tangible return on investment that effective quality and environmental management systems can deliver in securing high-profile public sector contracts.
