What is TISAX®?
Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX®) is a Standardised assessment and exchange mechanism developed specifically for the automotive industry to ensure robust information security practices among manufacturers, suppliers and service providers. Initiated by the ENX Association and based on requirements defined by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), TISAX® addresses key areas such as secure data handling, protection of prototypes and compliance with data protection.
As a motor industry sector specific information security certification, TISAX® provides a framework for conducting and sharing information security assessments in a consistent and trusted manner. It is built upon the principles of ISO 27001, offering a structured approach to evaluating a company’s information security management system (ISMS). Once an assessment is completed by an accredited audit provider, the results are made available through a secure online platform managed by the ENX Association. This allows participating organisations to access and trust each other’s security status, reducing the need for duplicate audits and fostering greater transparency and efficiency across the automotive supply chain.
